BIPOC Affinity Camp

BIPOC Camp creates a safe space for Black, 土著, and Students of Color to feel seen, 听到, 验证, 和授权. Teaching our youth to be united through our similarities while celebrating our differences is critical in cultivating a better understanding of one another and how we can uplift each other.

The BIPOC Affinity Camp Experience:

July 8 - July 20, 2024

Cohorts of Affinity campers attend for two consecutive summers (rising 7th and 8th graders). In their second year, campers will learn about independent school options for high school. 如果感兴趣, Affinity Camp leaders will support campers through the application process for 赌场捕鱼网投 and other independent schools in the area.

Specific activities will vary from year to year. Here are some highlights from our 2023 program:
  • Campfires and s'mores
  • Fun overnight activities in the 赌场捕鱼网投 dormitories
  • 3-night whitewater rafting trip
  • Intro to Ethnic Studies
  • 社会正义 project to be presented at the end of camp
  • Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
  • Exploratorium SF
  • Inspirational guest speakers
  • 绳索课程
  • BIPOC artists movie night
  • 游泳
  • Family Day and Project Showcase
As a day and boarding school, 赌场捕鱼网投 is equipped with dormitories and dining facilities to host campers overnight for a fully-immersive camp experience! Camp staff will oversee dorm life separated by camper gender identity. If your child identifies as non-binary, we will work with you to ensure they feel comfortable, safe and affirmed in our dormitory setting. Dormitories have single rooms with one camper per room, as well as some rooms for two campers to share together. Campers will also have access to private bathrooms. Meals are provided by our school’s kitchen staff, and food allergies and restrictions are carefully planned for. We will provide more information regarding dormitory living to accepted families.
